Join the ucsd Trading Community
UTS hosts meetings and special events each quarter. Members are expected to attend all events to fully benefit from the club.
In order to join as a general member all you need to do is come to the events and sign in. Even if you have no prior knowledge of trading or the financial markets we still encourage you to come check out our events and begin the long road of learning to trade!
For those who do have prior knowledge in trading and want to take a more active role in the club there is an interview process with the president and a review of previous trading history and experience. Being profitable is a bonus, but not a requirement. If you believe you have extensive knowledge in trading, please contact us to begin the application process.
Requirements to become a UTS “Active Trader”
Basic knowledge of the financial markets and trading
Have traded a live account for multiple months. Account size and profitability does not matter.
Understand how to read candlestick charts
Knowledge on how VWAP, Moving Averages, Volume, and Support and Resistance levels affect equity prices.
Dedicate time to UTS projects and requests from the board
Prepared to become a “mentor/coach” to the rest of the UTS members
Pass the interview process
A desire to learn more and trade better than the day before
If you meet our requirements and pass the interview process, you will be given an “Active Trader” title and work alongside the board and other Active Traders on special projects, trading critiques, and share trading ideas and your trading history with the UTS community. Active Traders will also get the chance to share their trading report cards on the UTS website for the trading community to learn from.
